The San Diego/Imperial Counties Iris Society is a group of all ages open to
garden enthusiasts who are interested in growing, showing or hybridizing
bearded, arilbred, spuria, Louisiana, Japanese, Siberian and species
irises. We meet monthly and also have triannual conventions and seminars
around the state and nation to view and study irises. We are a very social
group participating in dinners, luncheons and other parties. We put on a
yearly show and iris sale for the public located at Balboa Park, Casa del
Prado. Monthly meetings include a plant table for the purchase of rhizomes
and door prize drawing awarding varieties of value. We hold a private
auction each year so that members can share hundreds of cultivars. Those
interested in meeting fellow irisarians and collecting this rainbow flower
are encouraged to join us.
