The San Diego Bromeliad Society is organized to promote and maintain public and scientific interest in the research, development, preservation, conservation, propagation, and distribution of Bromeliaceae.
The Society attempts to increase the knowledge of Bromeliaceae through exchange and dissemination of knowledge by providing forums and media through which experiences in propagation, care, feeding, and other treatment of Bromeliads may be reported, discussed, and published.
Meetings: Monthly meetings feature local, national and international speakers, growing tips, plant raffles, sales, and supplies. Meetings start at 7pm on the 4th Wednesday of the month, 3rd Wednesday during Nov. and Dec.; Casa del Prado, Rm.104, Balboa Park.
Other activities planned for 1998 include home garden tours (Jan-Feb) and a plant show and sale at Casa del Prado (June).
The society welcomes all visitors. Come and join a meeting of the largest society in San Diego and Orange counties.
