- "Alphonse Mucha: The Spirit of Art Nouveau" - an exhibit of paintings through April 26.

- "Art Alive" - floral designs to compliment and enhance the museum's art collection. Opens April 30.
Mingei International Folk Museum
- An exhibition of the Museum's collection of bonsai plants including a 300 year old California Juniper.
- An exhibition of Japanese artist Keisuke Serizawa, including many items with floral motifs.

- Sunprint activities - April 4.

- "Feeling the Spirit: Searching the World for the People of Africa" - exhibit through April 14th.
San Diego Natural History Museum
- "Mother/Daughter Herbal High Tea" - lecture, guests to wear floral dresses, flowered picture hats, April 1, 4:00 - 6:00
- "Wotsabud?" - micro-brewery taste testing, lecture, jazz band and food, April 3, 7:00 - 10:00 pm
- "Frizzle Fest" - Ms. Frizzle activities focus on flora of the region, April 26, 10:00 - 4:00
- "Lecture on Perfumery" - demonstration and samples, April 30.
- An exhibition of the Valentein collection - watercolors on linen, hand painted botanical renderings as commissioned by Ellen Browning Scripps.
Reuben H. Fleet Space Theater and Science Center
- "Eyes on the Universe" - a weekly lecture focusing on floral-related topics.
- "Gourmet Eating From Space - Earth to Planet Mars" - a lecture with Merle Jensen, Dean of Agriculture at University of Arizona will focus on high-tech forms of agriculture for long space flights, April 8.
- "Unseen Worlds" - an Earth Day activity about bugs, butterflies and their "vision of plants and flowers.
- "Signals" and "Structures" - exhibits during April focusing on biological signals and man-made structures.
- "Space Flowers on Display" - exhibit of "flowers" that would grow on another planet designed by children from 4 partner schools.
San Diego Automotive Museum
- A Garden Party Car Show to focus on vintage cars, floral dress and attire, from cars of the flower children to a Rolls Royce decorated with images of nature .
- "The Flower and the Automobile: A Historical Perspective" - exhibit. San Diego Aerospace Museum
- Topiary! - display of topiary airplanes flying in formation. Lecture, slide presentation and exhibit by world renowned topiary expert, Ms. Pat Hammer, Saturday, April 11 and 18, 1:00 - 2:30 pm.
- A special Blue Angels exhibit showing flight patterns, including the famous Fleur de Lis pattern.
San Diego Historical Society/San Diego History Museum
- Co-host for the fiesta opening reception honoring the dedication of the Kate Sessions statue to be unveiled April 1 at 10:30 am. Reception to follow at 11:30 am.
- Kate Sessions Exhibit - in the foyer of the San Diego History Museum beginning April 1, 11:30. Free to the public.
- "Samuel Parsons, Jr., the Art of Landscape in Architecture" - a mini-exhibit showing the work of the first landscape architect to design a plan for Balboa Park
San Diego Guild of Puppetry
- A larger-than-life size puppet of Kate Sessions will be constructed and used at ceremonies, exhibit openings and special events. The puppet will be operated by students from San Diego Junior Theater.
- Puppet Shows - Tuesday, April 7, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 2:30 pm.
House of Pacific Relations International Cottages
- Cottages will display paintings, clothing and other decorative motifs depicting the national flower and/or tree from each different country. National flowers that will grow during the spring season in San Diego will be planted throughout the cottage area.
San Diego Hall of Champions
- Floral Interpretations of trophies used in sports, and examples of flowers used as tributes and awards in athletics.
- "Chia Plants" - 3 giant "Chia" plants depicting a football, a baseball and bat, and a hockey puck and stick.
- "Run for the Roses" blanket and a display of fresh flowers from all Triple Crown Events - The Kentucky Derby, The Preakness, and The Belmont Stakes.
- "Victory Bouquet" from the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.
San Diego Model Railroad Museum
- Hon Non Bo landscapes will be created near the model trains. Hon no bo is the centuries old Vietnamese art of constructing miniature environments with water, mountains, and plants, forming a tranquil and refreshing vista.
San Diego Museum of Man
- An exhibition from the museum's collection will focus on folk art with floral motifs.
- A display of blooming plants from Kent's Bromeliad Nursery. These exotic plants will be on exhibit in the museum lobby as well as floral accents in the Folk Art exhibit.
Timken Museum of Art
- "Paradise Lost: Fragonard and the Follies of the French Garden Before the Fall" - a lecture by Dr. Eric Haskell.
- A family guide to the collection that highlights the role of plants in art.
Centro Cultural de la Raza
- Artisan Faustino Ortega will be creating the large, colorful Mexican paper flowers used in many Mexican family celebrations and fiestas.
San Diego Zoo
- Guided Botanical Tours of the Zoo Gardens - each Saturday in April, Zoo horticulturists will offer guided tours. Free with admission.
- Self-guided Botanical Tours - printed handouts for various bio-climatic zones in the Zoo including Tiger River, Fern Canyon and Sun Bear Forest.
- "Orchid Odyssey" - Open House at the Zoo's Orchid House on April 3 ,5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, and 26.
- "Plants with Animal Names" - exhibit throughout the month in the Children's Zoo.
- "Buds 'n Blooms! Children's week" - Vermiculture and composting demonstrations, April 4 - 12.
- "Ask the Gardener" - a Horticulture Booth on the Prado featuring Zoo experts to answer questions and display Zoo plants.
- Floral Art Display on Flamingo Plaza by local high schools students.
Special Children's Week Events (Spring Break, April 4-12)
- Saturday, April 4 - Opening ceremonies at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion, 1:00 - 4:00 pm. A musical extravaganza will be presented by: San Diego Junior Theater, San Diego Youth Ballet, San Diego Civic Dance Association and the San Diego Youth Symphony. A musical program with a floral theme will be free to the public.
- "Sunprints" - the Museum of Photographic Arts will offer demonstrations.
- Tuesday, April 7 - Kids' Day activities will included free puppet shows, finger puppet crafts and story telling by Michael McCarty and Alice Smith-Cooper at the San Diego Art Institute; Origami, floral crafts and painting at the Spanish Village Art Center; Botanical Scavenger Hunt with prizes through Gold Canyon.
- Plant Scavenger Hunt by the Balboa Park Rangers on Tuesday, April 7 and Saturday, April 14, 11:30 - 3:00 by the Lily Pond.
- "Buds 'n Blooms! Children's week" - Vermiculture (worm gardening) and composting demonstrations at the San Diego Zoo, April 4 - 12.
- "Dr. Zoolittle" and puppet shows - San Diego Zoo, April 4 and April 19.
